What is an Ampknob?
We realised that musicians and producers were spending too much time getting a sound instead of making music. So we fixed it.
Producer Jens Bogren has engineered each and every Ampknob to offer the best tone possible, as soon as you load it up. No tweaking, no distractions; just your final tone in seconds.

Ampknob Fatman
The Fatman is based on a vintage 1950s masterpiece originally designed for bass players. It became the holy grail for guitarists through its ability to put forth tone with immense weight, but not a hint of harshness.
It’s like the perfect cup of coffee: it’s warm, complex, gives a kick when pushed, and essential for getting the day started on the right foot.
It’s not tight or modern, it’s bouncy and pillowy, with bass that feels like it’s vibrating in your chest. The 4x10 speaker setup offers a thick, woody midrange and sweet, sweet highs, imbuing your guitar sound with vocal-like qualities.
This old dog doesn’t need new tricks; there's nothing like the original.
The holy grail
This amp yearns to be pushed. Flick on the included boost pedal and crank the volume knob to drive the amp into creamy and chewy overdrive.
Need more? Use the input slider to truly abuse the circuit and push it into lead tones territory.
Spring and room reverb
Use the reverb knob to add a beautiful, spring reverb and combine it with the ‘Room’ control. With it, you can easily blend in a sense of space and character.
For more control over the ambient sounds within the plugin, you can also use the ‘Pan’ control (stereo output only) to pan your main guitar sound separately to the room and reverb.
Guitar and bass cabs
Included are three perfectly matched cabs: a matched cab that works as one with the amp, a 4x12 alternative, and a bass cab so you can use the Fatman as a bass amp or a uniquely voiced guitar amp.
You also get the option of loading up your favorite IR from the Bogren IR packs or any other IR of your choice.

The future of speaker modeling
Our IRDX (Impulse Response Dynamix) technology breathes life into the guitar sound by adding dynamic and true-to-life speaker behavior to static impulse responses.
IRDX technology, developed by producer Jens Bogren, uses advanced machine learning methods to reconstruct the difference between a real cab and an impulse response.
The end result is a guitar amp sim that reacts like a real amp, easily fits in a mix without sounding stale, and feels great when playing through.
Impulse Responses are excellent at capturing the tonality and resonance of a guitar cabinet, but by nature they are only a static snapshot in time.
By itself, an impulse response has the tonal characteristics of a real cab but without dynamics, it creates a lifeless, fatiguing sound.
Real-life guitar speakers react dynamically to the input from the amplifier. They move air, compress, and break up depending on how hard they are being pushed by the amp.
